A peek into our rich jungle of learning, communication, and growth

Welcome to Room 202…

August12

Welcome parents and children of room 202!  It is hard to believe that summer is coming to a close and we are starting a new school year together.  I will be using this homepage of the website as our class newsletter to keep everyone up-to-date and connected.  I will write about the seperate subject areas in different colors:  Math, Social Studies, Science, and Language Arts.  It is my goal to post a weekly entry on this main page, however some times of the year may be more hectic then others. :)

Right now I am busy getting both the classroom and the other parts of the website up and operational.  I am always adding both links and content and will be using the website as both an in-class tool and a home-school connection.  Not only can you log on to find out what is new in the room, but your children can use it as a valuable study and enrichment tool.  I look forward to showing you more about how to use the site at Open House.

For now, here are two links for you:

Welcome to third grade in Room 202 at Station Avenue!  This is my third year teaching third grade in this building.  Before that, I taught at John Simpkins Elementary.  There, I taught a year of third grade, a year of fifth, and two years of fourth grade.  I love what I do!

    Where in the World?

I have been living on the Cape, in Yarmouthport, for the last 17 years and absolutely love it here!  I enjoy the change of seasons, the natural scenery, and all the things there are to do on the Cape.  I also enjoy the small town feel.  Before I moved here with my family, I lived in West Palm Beach, Florida for most of my life.  Paterson, New Jersey is where I was born.

    Education

In 1992, I graduated Dennis Yarmouth High School and continued on to Cape Cod Community College where I earned my Associates Degree.  After that, I attended Wheelock College in Boston for my Bachelors Degree…I could walk to Fenway Park from school and see the awesome Red Sox in action!  I graduated Wheelock in 2000 and started teaching.  In a few years, I decided to go back to school for my Master’s Degree at Salem State College, finishing in 2007.  Whew!  That is a lot of school.

    Interests

When I am not teaching school or going to school, I do a million other things that I love.  One thing I really like about myself is that I am never bored or without something to do.  I thank my parents for helping me develop my imagination and creativity at a young age.

    My hobbies include:
